April and Desi Go to Thailand

In 2012, two Red Nose students from Cilincing travelled to Thailand to attend the Southeast Asian Social Circus Conference hosted by the Makhampom Theater Group in Chiang Dao. The experience, which was supported by the Vancouver Circus School, gave April and Desi, both 17-years-old, the opportunity to learn new skills and meet other circus youth from around the region. On their six-day adventure, April and Desi travelled through Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, and Chiang Dao, participating in circus workshops and performances along the way. The girls also took the opportunity to visit Chiang Dao Cave, the beach, as well as a marginalised village community. Here, April and Desi share their experience.
